Mario joined Texas A&M University in 2001. He holds a Masters of Law in Business, Taxation, and Transnational Practice from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. As the Assistant Dean of Faculties and Chief of Staff he is responsible for directly assisting and providing the necessary recommendations to the Dean of Faculties and Associate Provost as it relates to faculty hiring processes, risk and compliance matters, policy review, development and implementation, HR matters, business plans, processes and procedures, and any other matters as required by the Dean of Faculties and Associate Provost. He is also responsible for overseeing the operational area of Faculty Administration and Records as well as all facets of the daily operations of the office ensuring compliance with System policies, regulations and rules. In addition, he is responsible for directing the University's nonimmigrant and immigrant faculty, scholar, and staff employment caseload, including the Galveston and Qatar campuses, and providing assistance to 18 Texas A&M University System members (universities and agencies) regarding immigration employment matters.

Deb Warren

Deb joined Texas A&M University in 2006, working in the office of Research Compliance and joining the office of Immigration Services for Faculty & Scholars in May 2008.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University in Sociology and Political Science.  Prior to joining the university, she worked several years as a paralegal with a law firm specializing in immigration.  Her primary responsibilities are managing the workflow of the office and providing support and guidance to departments across the university and system as it relates to the employment of foreign nationals.

Erin Pope
Immigration Coordinator

Erin began working for Immigration Services for Faculty & Scholars in 1997 after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Texas A&M in 1996.  As Immigration Coordinator she provides guidance to TAMU and its system members on employing foreign nationals.  Additionally, she is responsible for ISFS’ forms and website maintenance.

Shilpa Hegde
Immigration Specialist II

Shilpa has worked for Immigration Services for Faculty & Scholars at Texas A&M University since 2006.  She is responsible for advising departments, international scholars, interns, and international employees on many aspects of immigration regulations that affect employment and legal status.  Additionally, she coordinates scholar orientations and assists departments with how to successfully host J-1 Exchange Visitors.

Virginie Blum
Immigration Specialist II

Virginie has been in the field of International Education with Texas A&M since 2009, beginning her career in the International Student Services office and joining Immigration Services for Faculty & Scholars in December 2010. Originally from France, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Culture at the University of Lettres in Aix en Provence, France, and a Master’s degree in Marketing at Texas A&M University. Her primary responsibilities in ISFS include overseeing the J-1 Program, from advising academic departments and foreign nationals on immigration issues to ensuring compliance with the J Program regulations.

Sahar Zubairy

Sahar joined the Immigration Services for Faculty & Scholars in August 2017.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Texas A&M University, and her Master’s degree in Global Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Austin (LBJ School of Public Affairs). She has previously worked as a grant coordinator for a non-profit organization providing quality education in Pakistan. Her primary responsibilities in ISFS include assisting with the J-1 Program and providing support to departments and foreign employees on immigration related issues.
