We’ll discuss

process for
hiring foreign
national
employees,
including the
recently revised
System
Regulation on
Employment of
Foreign
Nationals
(33.99.09),
updated IFSS
forms, and
website changes.
February 21,
2008: The
J-1 and Best
Practices
Learn more
about the
J-1 Exchange
Visitor
Program and
the best
practices
for hosting
a successful
exchange.
We’ll talk
about the
responsibilities
of the J-1
visitor as
well as the
responsibilities
of the host.
March 6,
2008: Non-Immigrant
Employment
Statuses
Discussion
will
include
the H-1,
TN, and
E-3 visa
statuses,
the
documentation
required,
and the
employing
department’s
responsibilities.
April
10,
2008: Permanent
Residency:
The
Special Handling
Process
This
session
will
focus
on
filing
an
Alien
Labor
Certification.
We’ll
talk
about
the
requirements
that
must
be
met
and
the
documentation
that
must
be
provided
in
order
to
file
under
the
Special
Handling
provisions
for
university
teachers.
April 24, 2008: Permanent Residency: The Outstanding Professor or Researcher Process
In our second session on permanent residency we’ll focus on the Outstanding Professor or Researcher classification, the criteria, and the evidence that is needed.
